‘We have a very very good idea of who the leakers are’

Newly appointed Trump communications director Anthony Scaramucci said Thursday he has a “very, very good idea” who the senior leakers are in the White House.

Calling in to CNN on Thursday morning, Scaramucci also said if White House chief of staff Reince Priebus “wants to explain that he’s not a leaker, let him do that.”

“I’m a straight shooter and I’ll go right to the heart of the matter,” he added.

The latest leak came late Wednesday when Politico reported findings from the former hedge fund star’s disclosure, noting the 53-year-old had earned $4.9 million from his ownership stake in SkyBridge Capital and more than $5 million in salary between January 2016 and the end of June this year.

“[Priebus] is the chief of staff. He’s responsible for understanding and uncovering [leaks] and helping me do that in the White House, which is why I put that tweet out last night,” Scaramucci told CNN.

In a tweet late Wednesday, Scaramucci wrote, “In light of the leak of my financial disclosure info which is a felony. I will be contacting @FBI and the @TheJusticeDept #swamp @Reince45.”

The post was removed shortly after, but not without raising a few questions because he included Priebus’ Twitter handle.

Since Priebus was tagged in the tweet, the media made the assumption the chief of staff was the leaker because “journalists know who the leakers are,” Scaramucci said.

Scaramucci said he doesn’t like the activity going on in the White House, and said he and President Donald Trump are working together “to out” the leakers in the “entire country.”

Last week, Trump appointed Scaramucci as communications director, causing White House press secretary Sean Spicer to abruptly resign.
