Emilia Clarke scraps a failing plan to conquer her enemies in “Game of Thrones.” And Ian Ziering and Tara Reid’s fight against sharks gets personal.

What’s on TV

GAME OF THRONES 9 p.m. on HBO; also streaming on HBO Now. By Episode 2 of Season 7, Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) had quite a lot going for her: She had planned to capture King’s Landing (and spare the city her dragon’s wrath) with the help of the Greyjoys, the Dornish Sands and House Tyrell. That plan quickly derailed when, last week, Euron Greyjoy presented his captive, Yara, as his promised gift to Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), along with Ellaria Sand and her daughter Tyene. Meanwhile, Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and his army invaded House Tyrell, which ended with Olenna Tyrell’s dignified demise. Weakened by these losses, and only slightly bolstered by her new pact with Jon Snow (Kit Harington), in this episode, Daenerys defiantly declares, “Enough with the clever plans.”

BREAKING BAD 7:45 p.m. on AMC. Bryan Cranston’s seminal role as Walter White reaches a violent milestone in this season finale. After dodging hit men surveying his home, White sets out to kill his boss, the drug kingpin Gustavo Fring (Giancarlo Esposito), once and for all. He devises a wicked plot to lure Fring into the hospital room of Hector Salamanca, a former drug peddler and a longtime rival of Fring. Fring arrives with the intent to murder Salamanca, but seconds before he can kill him, an explosive turn takes both of their lives. If that cliffhanger leaves you wanting more, the entire series is streaming on Netflix.
